Portraits of people

I really want a family portrait or a single portrait with all my kids together. Do you do that?
I can't decide which style I like best. What should I do?
I really want an outdoor portrait of my family on a beach. Do you do that?
My son/daughter needs Senior Portraits. Do you do that?
I need a headshot for LinkedIn. Do you do that?

Velveteen Rabbit portraits

Who is this mysterious rabbit and why do you keep referencing him... her... it?
Do you get a commission on that book? I just want the Cliff's notes or whatever it is the kids are calling it these days.
What kind of stuff might work for a Velveteen Rabbit photo?
How the H-E-double toothpicks am I supposed to come up with something? Give me a break. I am going to go watch some cats on youtube.
When would I want to commission a Velveteen Rabbit portrait? (I can't believe I am calling them that now too.)

These art prints would make pretty cards. Can I buy cards instead of a print?
But I want a coaster, not a card. And a mug. And a pillowcase and an entire couch upholstered in fabric imprinted with my very favorite photo. Can you do that?
I remember seeing a photo you posted on Facebook. Can I buy that one?
I have some photos I'd like you to edit and make cooler. Can you do that?

Portraits of people

I really want a family portrait or a single portrait with all my kids together. Do you do that?
I create individual portraits, for the most part. But I understand your desire to catch everyone in the same moment in time. Two options. One: I can photograph your family at the same time, individually. Then you (or I) frame them as a series – and then hang them together. Two: We can give it a trial run and see what happens. Pricing changes when more people are present for a portrait sitting.

I can't decide which style I like best. What should I do?

This is what I’d recommend: first, let me take the photos. Then we’ll decide when we see the images. Some raw images are clearly more suited to one style over another. Also – see if there are any examples in my portfolio you really don’t like. That will help too.

I really want an outdoor portrait of my family on a beach. Do you do that?

I specialize in highly edited, contemporary individual portraits. I generally shoot in studio or in my gardens. If you want to make a road trip, I can do that for an additional fee. Email me.

My son/daughter needs Senior photos. Do you do that?

Yes I do Senior photos. I really like working with this age of subject since I have more experience with teenagers than you can shake a stick at. And if you want to order a ridiculous number of prints to include in graduation invitations or something, we can work on pricing.

I need a headshot for LinkedIn. Do you do that?

Yes I do headshots. Email me for pricing.

Velveteen Rabbit Portraits

Who is this mysterious rabbit and why do you keep referencing him... her... it?

It is the central character in a kid's book. Buy it here in person if you live in the area.

or here online.

Do you get a commission on that book? I just want the Cliff's notes or whatever it is the kids are calling it these days.

Basically the story is about stuffed animals that are used, worn, and treasured and how they become real through the love of a child.  I don't get a commission but if you invite me to a baby shower, you'll probably get a copy of the book from me.

What kind of stuff might work for a Velveteen Rabbit photo?

Check out the gallery. Maybe:

·      The shoes your kid wore as a toddler. You keep thinking you should throw them away, but every time you try, you toss them back in the box.
·      How about those shoes plus the shoes they’re wearing now? Yep, that works. Makes me tear up a bit. Drats.
·      Something that reminds you of a person you hold in esteem. A small box that always sat on her dressing table. His glasses.
·      A toy, a sports item, a special lovey. The days go slow; the years fly.
·      Something symbolic about a person’s work, someone’s achievement, or a rite of passage.
·      Something symbolic about a person you love: a hobby, a passion, a dream.
·      Or something you are passionate about or want to focus on. Let’s brainstorm and come up with something that you can display that will keep you focused.

How the H-E-double toothpicks am I supposed to come up with something? Give me a break. I am going to go watch some cats on youtube.

I’ll brainstorm with you to come up with options. I’m pretty good at helping people figure out an appropriate subject. It will take 5 or 10 minutes, tops.

When would I want to commission a Velveteen Rabbit portrait? (I can't believe I am calling them that now too.)

Well, I’d like to think you should buy one weekly, but you could commission one to help you:

Remember

·      Moments in childhood
·      A person important to you
·      A significant accomplishment
·      A goal you're working toward fufilling

Celebrate

·      Graduation
·      Retirement
·      Bar Mitzvah or Bat Mitzvah
·      First Holy Communion
·      Confirmation

And finally, any time you want to clean out your closets; create art instead clutter.

Art

These art prints would make pretty cards. Can I buy cards instead of a print?

I can make any print available as a box of cards. Contact me and I’ll let you know the pricing.

But I want a coaster, not a card. And a mug. And a pillowcase and an entire couch upholstered in fabric imprinted with my very favorite photo. Can you do that?

Okay, first thing, calm down. You can get some other stuff. Let’s talk.

The couch might be a stretch though.

I remember a photo you posted on Facebook. Can I buy that one?

Sure. Let's talk.

I have some photos I'd like you to edit and make cooler. Can you do that?

I only work on photos I take. I find that part of the creative process begins in your portrait sitting.

I scrolled all the way down here. Don't you have any better questions than these to answer?

Nope. This is it. Send me something more interesting and I'll add it.
